About Airbrush Stencils

PREPARATION

Apply the decal to the surface (click HERE for instructions on applying decals) and carefully remove the application tape. Make sure the edges of the design adhere to the surface, to avoid any paint seepage!

Mask off the edges of the stencil that will not be painted, using masking tape and newspaper to protect surrounding area. We recommend you do not use masking tape to mask any edges that may be painted, but use a good quality airbrush lining tape.

Apply paint using an airbrush (you can use aerosol paint as well). Build the colour up slowly, rather than spraying large quantities of paint at once - this can lead to streaks and runs! Let the paint dry before adding any extra colours.

Once the paint is dry, carefully remove the masking tape, then the airbrush stencil. It should remain on the panel for no more than 4 hours, otherwise the adhesive may start to stick (it is harmless, but this will avoid having to clean the panel!)  Do not subject the stencil vinyl to heat (i.e. baking) or substances with a very high solvent content. The stencils are designed for single use only.
